Since the beginning of times, people felt the need and had the instinct to express themselves through painting, it became one of the oldest art forms. To prove that, are evidences like the cave paintings, which we can find all around the planet. In a certain way, and by analogy, they foretold the birth of the tile. Nowadays, tiles achieved a paramount place in the artistic scope, being, in fact, a material used for many, many purposes. Nevertheless, the most common one is of ennobling different spaces, providing a unique beauty and drawing the most sensitive spirits’ attention.
Visit a tile painting atelier and get acquainted with the story and the art of tile painting. You will, also, have the chance to learn more about the history of the art of tiling (included in the Art Nouveau in Aveiro) as well as the features of the tiles itself (press, glass, brushes, pigments, firing) and its painting. You will also be allowed to paint an artistic tile inspired by a theme of your choice.
